Check out the new Crypto Mobile app (we call it the Status Mobile app here) — it’s built from the same code as the Status Desktop app, so you get a seamless experience whether you’re on mobile or desktop.
One app, one vibe — bringing the Status community together on all your devices!
You can now grab the Crypto Mobile app through open testing on the Google Play Store, Apple App Store, and F-Droid Store, so feel free to download and give it a spin.
If you’re using the Clojure-based Status Legacy Mobile app (we refer to it as Crypto Legacy), you can install the new unified Status Mobile app right alongside it and easily move your existing Crypto profile over (check out the “Migrating Data from Status Legacy to Crypto” section below for details).

What’s Next for the Mobile App?
The Crypto Mobile app kicked off as a version of the Crypto Desktop code, tailored for smaller screens, and it’s on its way to becoming a fully mobile-friendly experience.
This update already packs in a bunch of features from Status Desktop, like:
- Managing your communities (for community owners)
- Language support (Settings → Language & Currency → Language) – currently, we’ve got English, Korean, and Czech, with more languages on the way.
- Payment requests in Chat (just hit the “+” next to the chat input → Add payment request) – easily set up and send payment requests right in the chat.
- Sticker store (tap the Sticker icon — the last one on the left in the chat input) – grab some awesome stickers, including free packs.
- Ethereum Name Service (ENS) usernames – link your existing ENS name to your Crypto profile or snag a new one.
- Website links and GIF previews – check out previews for links and GIFs.
- Text size management (Settings → Appearance → Text Size) – adjust the text size to your liking throughout the app.
- Keep track of sent, pending, and dismissed contact requests (Settings → Messaging → Pending/Dismissed requests) – view your pending contact requests.
- Mark contacts as untrusted.
- Search through your chat list.
- Search within a chat.

Check out the app on the Google Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps.
For Apple users, it’s in the App Store Review — we’ll share the link once it’s ready.
F-Droid Store: Our dev team is working on it, and we’ll drop the link when it’s live.
Just a heads up: the team is rolling out updates pretty fast, so you might notice some hiccups while it’s still in open testing.
We’re aiming to launch the production version with the next Desktop and Mobile updates, which should be in about two to three weeks!
